Beautiful sublime architecture that lends to the experience of Islamic art. Main floor exhibit is intelligently curated to educate and inform visitors of Islam and art inspired by Islamic culture. Upstairs and downstairs have special exhibits that are thoughtfully put together as well. Cafe is very nice when fully open and well located by the inner court. The gift shop at the entrance/exit is a disappointment with rude and useless staff/volunteers. We bought something but will refrain from doing so in the future as they are off putting. Seriously, why are they there?? They diminish the museum with their crabby attitude. On the whole, Aga Khan is a wonderful addition to Toronto's museums/ art galleries. If you love architecture and/ or interested in Islamic art, this is your place.

It’s not too much as I expected. However if you like Islamic exhibition, it will be a good place to learn. Check the price ticket and cheaper time on weekdays. Staffs are friendly, ask them for the coating and food drink policy

The Aga Khan Museum in Toronto is a true cultural gem that deserves every bit of a 5-star rating! From the moment you step in, the stunning architecture by Fumihiko Maki captivates with its blend of modern lines and Eastern-inspired elegance, creating a serene and inspiring atmosphere. The museum’s exhibits, focusing on the art, culture, and history of Islamic civilizations, are breathtakingly diverse and meticulously curated. From ancient Middle Eastern artifacts to exquisite calligraphy and textiles, each piece tells a unique story. The temporary exhibitions are always fresh and thought-provoking, offering new perspectives with every visit. The Persian-inspired courtyard garden is a tranquil oasis, perfect for reflection or a peaceful stroll. The staff are incredibly professional and welcoming, and the guided tours are enriched by their deep knowledge. The café and gift shop are also top-notch, perfectly complementing the museum’s ambiance. As a Toronto resident, I can’t recommend the Aga Khan Museum enough. It’s not just a museum—it’s a journey through the rich history and artistry of the Islamic world. An absolute must-visit! Five stars all the way!

The Aga Khan Museum is honestly one of the most beautiful spots in Toronto. The outside of the building itself is stunning and super peaceful with so much natural light. I felt like I landed in a foreign place. The staff are all friendly and polite, making u feel welcomed into their space. Altough I would wish they can have a staff member at the entrance welcoming in guests and leading them to checkin. The exhibits are amazing — you really get to see the richness of Islamic art and history, and everything is presented in such a modern, thoughtful way for all kinds of audiences to learn and explore. The gardens and reflecting pool outside are perfect for just sitting and relaxing after walking through the galleries. There is a small cafe inside as well. Overall, such a unique and inspiring place. Definitely recommend if you’re looking for something unique and meaningful to do in the city.

Spectacular cultural and social experience! We arrived and were welcomed by a very nice gentleman who briefly described the museum. We took the guided tour of the”As the Sun Appears from Behind,” which was absolutely fascinating. It’s a temporary exhibit from the Al Budra award-winning Islamic art. Adding to the vibe, a duo played Islamic music in the courtyard. The restaurant menu (available on the website) looked very tasty. Since we visited between lunch and dinner, we enjoyed the fresh offerings at the cafe. We highly recommend this oasis. It was about 30 minutes by Uber from our hotel in Toronto, but well worth the effort. Also glad to see that the cafe used cutlery produced from plant starch rather than plastic. Oh, don’t miss the signature museum piece “Your Way Begins on the Other Side.” It’s a contemporary work 18’x6’ made with over one million gold plated pins. (See last of photos.) it speaks to the pitfalls and paradoxes encountered on the journey toward spiritual bliss.
