The short version
LittleBase has no user accounts, runs no ad networks, and does not sell personal data. Browsing this site is anonymous to us. The only data we store on your device is two small cookies that remember which city you'd like to see when you come back.
Information we collect
We do not collect personal information. We do not require you to register or provide an email address. Our hosting provider may log standard request data (IP address, user-agent, referring URL) for security and abuse-prevention purposes, retained only as long as necessary.
On the home page we read a coarse, city-level geolocation hint provided by our hosting platform based on your IP address. We use this only to suggest the city closest to you. We do not store this information on our servers.
Cookies
We use two small cookies, both stored in your browser only:
- lb_geo_seen — a single flag (value:
1) so the location suggestion banner only appears prominently on your first visit. Expires after one year. - lb_city — the slug of the city you most recently chose, so we can show it when you return. Expires after one year.
You can clear these at any time through your browser's settings. LittleBase will still work without them.
Third-party services
LittleBase depends on a handful of third-party providers to operate:
- Vercel hosts the website and provides the geolocation IP hint described above.
- Supabase hosts our database of places, cities, and reviews. We do not store visitor data there.
- Google Maps embed is used to display a small map on each place page. Loading those maps may set cookies under Google's privacy policy. See Google's Privacy Policy.
Children's privacy
LittleBase is written for parents and caregivers. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes to this policy
If we change how LittleBase handles data, we'll update this page and the "Last updated" date above.
