Nice skate trail right downtown. It also has a heated indoor area to change your skates and a washroom. When there is no ice people use it as a impromptu skate park (rollerblading/skateboard)

Lovely little ice skating trail right at College Park. Visited afternoon and there was lots of seating space available. No reservations needed. Public washrooms available. CORRECTION: Reservations *are* needed via efun.toronto.ca. However there is no line for drop ins, especially during weekdays.

Good flat ice, not too crowded, but no skate rentals. Ice is refreshed hourly. Good, friendly staff. Plenty of benches to change skates. Changing room closed, unfortunately. Close to the subway, but no parking.

The ice rink has a hole/patch of no ice which discontinues the ice rink and is no longer one smooth circle. It has an island in the middle where to sit with trees and Christmas decorations but it’s better not to cross over because the dirt in your shoes will make the rink messy and less enjoyable to skate in. Other than that it has a nice view surrounded by buildings. You’ll see a lot of people walking their dogs and families bringing their children and a few tourists.

Looking for a place to ice skate? The Barbara Ann Scott Ice Trail is a downtown option close to many shops and businesses. The space is located in the plaza near College Station. It's an area with many banks, buildings, and shops, making it easy to find food and transportation. The area is usually open for skating in mid-November and tends to stay open until the end of the winter season (check the Toronto website for times and dates). The venue does not have equipment for rent, except on event days, and these are usually provided by partner companies. The space has an enclosed structure with an automatic opening and closing door, a heated area, benches to sit and get ready with your skates, coat racks, and holders for personal belongings (there are no lockers, so keep valuables with you). The structure also has a bathroom adapted to receive visitors with reduced mobility and people with physical disabilities, featuring an automatic opening door, sink with automatic activation, automatic flush toilet, and grab bars. The skating rink isn't large, but it has a good amount of space, somewhat reminiscent of a go-kart track. It's worth a visit, especially since it's a free space.
