My kids have swimming lessons here. Nice pool, however Covid makes it difficult for parents to watch their kids.

The Boys & Girl Club of West Scarborough is a well-run program led by excellent staff. They work with a very diverse student community with time for homework and also engaging activities for physical and mental development. Great community connections with special guests like Raptors players visiting. Students can also register for swimming lessons at the aquatics program in the same building. All around awesome for the community in West Scarborough!

This community center really does nothing for the youth of the community. 1 hour a week is insufficient. So many bored and at risk youth with nowhere to go but the center has an abundance of staff and is open until 9pm. Kids are being turned away. Shame. They had so many programs back in the day, 5 days a week 6-10 pm. so many kids had a safe place to go. They offered football, ballhockey, basketball, volleyball, cooking, swimming, organized team sports home and abroad and a games room that was open all of the time.Monday was basketball and game room, Tuesday was ballhockey and game room, Wednesday was volleyball and cooking class and game room, Thursday was ballhockey and game room all from 6-10 pm. Kids looked forward to it. Kids made friends did activities and gained confidence in a healthy environment. They provided trips to the movies and other trips.now they offer a youth night for 1 hour and 15 minutes, one day day week, 6:30-7:45. I wonder what does the staff really do? Most of the offered programs are school and tutor related. The youth go to school all day and need a place to chill and hang out. especially at risk youth that have an unstable home environment. Things need to change. I went to the actual building to inquire about youth programs but no one knows anything. staff that are employed there are not actually in the building and no one answers their phone. Something isnt right with this place. But I bet they get a lot of city money. I hope things change especially after they finish renovation on the gym, the pool and teen room. I believe the community is being neglected but everyone that works there is getting a paycheck.
