Came with the kids the past weekend. Quite busy and probably better for younger kids. Seen the pictures and knew there was structures for younger kids but tho if hit it would also be good for mine as well to just work up an appetite. They didn’t seem to care much for it so i will review as i see it. The park itself is nice and big. Very spacious and the structures are nice. Got fairly busy especially in the owl structure area which also provides shade and a sitting area That being said, there isn’t much proper spots to sit and just hang out and i do wish that they make something to provide relief from the sun on hot summer days. A gazebo or something to give additional shade. I think as long as it’s maintained properly, this could be a top park. One of the other cool things that pertain to maintenance is that they have a suntan lotion station. I have not seen that before and if it’s maintained properly can be a benefit for those who have forgotten theirs. The play areas look like hard ground but is softer with some bounce to it which is nice. They also have a parking lot across the street from the park. If you follow google maps, it will show the parks location, so just be sure to turn to the opposite way of the park so you don’t have to u turn in a busy spot or make a loop around.

4 out of 5 stars, but only because the Park is still under construction as of September 5/2025. If you are Googling instructions and directions, also note that the directions will tell you to make a left turn in 500m but that is into a “Service Road“ only. The instruction should be to turn right, as the Parking is immediately on the other side of the road from the Park. When you cross the not-very-busy road, the first thing you should see, slightly to your right, is a metal gate access to a rather lovely dog-enclosure. It also has an exit/entrance gate on the far right by a water fountain. We actually did not notice this dog-run area going in as it IS fenced and like a number of other areas (like the big brick building next to it) are also fenced and ‘under construction. The nicely grassed (fake) area is well designed and is mounded for some pretty playful activities. Directly beyond & to the right of the dog-run is the brick building. I’m not sure what it will house but it is 2 stories high and quite large. My first guess was Washroom facilities but it ‘could be more’ (when completed & the fence is removed). If you exit the dog-park from the same exit that you entered, you may end up choosing to make a dog-leg (pun intended) turn in 50 yards to go right or left. If left, you will see a large picnic spot area and an extremely large wooden Racoon! This area is the Racoon Picnic Terrace, a large area with multiple tables. Some areas even have covered sun-block red screening. We picnicked upon exiting but did ‘take a right’ first off and headed to the ‘Snowy Owl Park’ playground area. It a a large and well-designed area with lots of cushiony surfaces to protect from any bumps and bruises. The huge white wooden Owl structure towers over the play area where various swings and activities await (what looks to be an elongated sandy bottomed water structure - under construction). Walking beyond the play area, there is a sandy path that goes to a river estuary (that enters the main lake area). Both the left and right of the path are nicely designed grassy areas with bullrushes and native grasses. Further on, on the left, is a small ‘boat launch and fishing’ area. Beyond that, there is a bridge that crosses the waterway. The path(s) appear to continue (for biking) but at least one going towards the City was fenced off temporarily. We thoroughly enjoyed a good 90 minutes at this new Park which will definitely be a popular 5-star attraction when completed. Some great thoughts, engineering and design work has clearly gone into this Park and the views of the Downtown area and waterway are very scenic. I’m sure it won’t be long before it’s totally finished so give it a go. We did see a few (6) people there already, a couple on their bikes and a couple with a wagon-load of picnic goodies (though strangely there were 30+ cars in the parking lot already!). Parking appears to be ample at this time plus there appears to be on-side-street options in a non-busy area at this time.

It’s a good park to bring the kids to play. There’s a free parking across the street. There’s a washroom for men and women across the snowy owl playground. There’s even an area where you can BBQ. There’s plenty of places to sit. There’s even a place to fish, a trail to walk and ride bikes on, an off leash area for dogs, and many activities for kids to enjoy. The scenery at night is beautiful and the artistic design is attractive. Definitely a must go to. It’s less crowded during the week day evenings.

Smashing IT! 🏖 Stop the PRESSES! There's a new park in town and it's absolutely fabulous! This spot along the edge of the city has been under construction for years, and the city finally completed most of the major developments with the recent opening of Biidaasige Park. This large greenery, wooded area with its very own pond is a great place for the kids as there's plenty of playground equipment for the kids to play on. The wooded area is huge, with lots of walking trails to keep you busy for hours. It's also a great way to get some exercise walking around and actually enjoying yourself. The wild-life is started to really get noticed as well. With lots of different kinds of birds, great for bird watchers, butterflies, and a lot of huge dragon flies to admire as they go swooping around. The park is also great for cyclists wanting to get in a few miles around the park. It's a great outing any time of the day or year. So if you're looking for a new park to venture off to with some great skyline sites, then Biidaasige Park is definitely for you. Also, there's a miniature golf enclosure and with lots of park benches if you care to bring a picnic. It's also really easy to access. Just head on out to Union Station, walk outside to the South West Side at the Bus Stop, and take the 114 Bus get off at Commissioners Street and Munition Street. And it's right there! For all to enjoy! Oh, and I almost forgot to mention the pond is now home to parent swans and their little babies.

Excellent experience with the kids here. Limited parking as it gets busy but if you come on off- hours it's ok. There's activities for a wide range of ages, but it's definitely geared towards toddlers and younger children. There seems to be a large ratio of parents to kids here so it looked busier than it actually is. Lots of types of play including climbing, swings, balance ropes, zip lines, slides, and more.
