Their deposit amount is not within industry standard and unusually punishing. Staff member Karen stated she also wondered why deposit did not take into account CCFRI funding but was at the mercy of owner Nita. When your own staff question the policies, maybe it is time to have a revision. You essentially give the facility a loan of over 500$ for no good reason. I understand non refundable, but for no services rendered and long waitlist where every withdrawal is easily replaced, some flexibility would be appreciated. Nita stared CCFRI funding is tied to enrollment, which is why they take the whole amount. I sincerely doubt the spot I withdrew from will be sitting empty, which means this is just pure greed.

We enrolled our child here for a year and while there were some positive things (eg. The caring teachers and admin), we also have some negative points to highlight. 1) Location - with the school being right on Kingsway, it feels rather dangerous to park and load/unload the kids. They also take a 15-minute walk to the park in a pretty busy neighbourhood. 2) No area for play - with kids being kids, it's understandable they want to play together after school but there's no area to do so. 3) No insight on what the kids did that day - no camera, no daily updates, no area to peek in. It makes it hard to start a conversation with our child on how his day went and what he did. 4) They've changed the teachers now so I can't speak of the new teachers, but the previous ones were all kind hearted but were all ESL so hard to understand them at times. Hopefully they're better now! 5) Non refundable deposit - we issued a cheque in January for another year at the school. Then after some consideration we decided to move school and informed them in July (2 months ahead of the new school year) but they wouldn't refund our deposit that was over $1,000!!! Learning wise, my son did learned quite a bit. He learned additions up to 10, mastered writing his ABCs, solved cubic puzzles etc. But the classroom setting further made him be quiet and not confident in social settings / larger group participation.

Our daughter is in the part-time program and she's 3 years old. It's been a journey with having her transition fully to being comfortable into daycare and we were nervous with her transition to pre-school. BMS did an excellent job with the gradual transition and were very supportive for her. They were accommodating and gave us good suggestions for how we could support her. She's fully transitioned now and thriving. The teachers are able to maintain and fun, calm, and stimulating learning environment where we've seen some huge changes overall with our child's development. We really appreciate the organized weekly reports, month ahead schedules, parent-teacher interviews, and parent observations. We're super happy overall and will definitely be recommending BMS to anyone who's curious!

Our son is attending for his third year and is now in the full day program. We had a few hiccups in the fall of the first year at the part time program but the school teachers and administrators are very receptive to feedback and have adjusted accordingly. Our son loves school and adapted really well since the beginning. We find that he loves to learn and the teachers are very attentive and willing to stretch and challenge him even beyond what they have prepared. We will sorely miss the school and program when he has to move on from the school

My son goes here for the Kindergarten. He loves his friends and the programs and methods offered at BMS. His fav is learning math, montessori style. Even I was awed by the Montessori's math learning style & framework. This is something that I will regretfully miss once my son graduates BMS. Teachers have been attentive in my son's growth and development, but I believe in other kids' as well. So I'm pretty happy with that. Ms Karen the principal is very nice and always answers all your questions. I feel safe trusting my kids' learning journey in the hands of BMS.
