  My first time visit to DeSerres in Richmond hill, My daughter find out the place to buy some art supplies, prices are pretty good compare to Michels. Variety of supplies are available in this store, They have plenty of drawing canvas in different sizes, variety of paints. I am not happy about customers service, purchased variety of paints and other supplies, did not provide any plastic bag to carry. Let see my next visit how the customers service. Thanks you for your response and care the environment.

  DeSerres is definitely my favorite art supply store. Excellent customer service. Staff are helpful and friendly. They got plenty of drawing, painting and crafting supplies. I can find everything I need.

The staff are helpful and know their products well, offering advice when you need it. Prices are reasonable for the quality, and there’s always something new to discover. It’s a place that sparks creativity the moment you walk through the door.

  I had one of the worst customer service experiences I’ve had in a long time. I drove 20 minutes to this store because I needed several supplies, but I ended up leaving with only two items and a really unpleasant feeling. All three staff members were standing at the cashier chatting. When I approached with a few questions, I was brushed off each time with a vague one-word answer and a finger pointed toward an aisle. Eventually, I asked one of them to please come help me. He walked over with an attitude, answered my question about the difference between acrylic gouache and regular gouache in a condescending way, and immediately walked back then laughed with the others behind the counter! I also needed illustration boards, but the paper section is huge and I couldn’t find the brand I wanted. I hesitated to go back to ask for help because of how they had already treated me, but I did anyway! The other two staff members also seemed annoyed. I said I needed help finding illustration boards, instead of assisting me, the female staff member asked, “Do you know what size you want?” I explained that I needed to find them first in order to choose the size!! When another staff member finally came over, I asked him, “What’s going on? Am I bothering anyone by asking for help?” His response: “No, don’t worry, it’s fine.” I told him I wasn’t worried, I just wanted to understand why I was being treated this way. He replied, “We just expect people to know what they want.” That comment honestly blew my mind. If customers already “knew everything,” what would be the point of having staff? What makes this even more disappointing is that I always have amazing experiences at the Deserres downtown location. The staff there are consistently helpful, kind, and knowledgeable. Such a shame that this well-organized, beautifully stocked store is being brought down by such unwelcoming service.

  Excellent, fast, friendly and knowledgeable service, exceptional product availability and selection, reasonable prices, and additional discounts - what more could you ask for? Went in to pick up some leather paint and finisher, and were helped to the right spot and right product within literally seconds. Perfect. Would highly recommend for your art supply needs.
