  I would like to extend my heartfelt appreciation to the staff at Dharma Kids Center, particularly Ms. Vann, Ms. Nancy, and Ms. Raman, for their outstanding hard work, patience, and compassion. After my son's ASD diagnosis, the team's support with forms, meetings, and visits from the BC Center for Ability staff has been instrumental in his progress. The teachers' support has been remarkable, and I have witnessed significant improvements in my son since he enrolled at Dharma Kids Center. Initially, I was concerned about enrolling my son in preschool due to his flight risk. However, the expertise of the Dharma Kids Center staff has alleviated all my concerns, allowing me to complete tasks without worrying about his well-being during the four hours he spends at the center. I highly recommend this preschool.

  Amazing preschool! It’s stressful finding the right preschool for a toddler that has separation issues. I only had my son in there for a short time due to moving but the time my son was there they made him so comfortable and eased my mind knowing he’s in safe hands. Thank you Dharma center for making sure Atreus felt safe knowing how sad he got! I appreciate you all!

  Our daughter was here for a good year and half before she graduated to Kindergarten. Even 3 months later she still talks about missing Dharma, the teachers by name, and her time there. All the wonderful teachers there provided clear transparency through the app they use, sent home tons of Art and activities that the kids have done during the day and worked with us to constantly improve everyone's preschool experience. I am super grateful of everyone at Dharma for helping our daughter have such a idyllic preschool at their wonderful facility and can't wait for my 1 year old son to become of age to come back! Thank you Staff of Dharma!

  Two months ago, I came across this daycare online and was happy to see that they offered Saturday care. Later, I realized it was the same daycare I had visited before and had been impressed by their spacious yard, which I thought my child would really enjoy. I felt very lucky to find this option. On the first visit, my child did not show any strong resistance afterwards, which made me feel reassured. I even brought a hot meal, and when I asked, the teacher told me they could help warm it up. However, on the second visit, things changed. After I picked my child up, she no longer wanted to return. I also noticed that she started blinking her eyes frequently. Over time, through conversations, I learned two things: Children who do not nap are required to stay lying on the bed quietly, with no alternative space provided (such as reading books). Because the microwave was not working that day, my child’s lunch was served cold instead of being heated. I did not plan to write a review at first. But recently, I saw another parent share a similar experience about their child developing frequent blinking after daycare. This made me feel that perhaps my child’s reaction was also linked to stress from that environment. While I am saddened by what happened, I understand not every child reacts the same way. I am sharing this experience here in the hope it may be helpful for other parents when making their decisions.

  Someone I know’s child was rejected for having special needs. Just to make it clear since this must be a team of educators who aren’t educated, let me share this: “In British Columbia a licensed daycare cannot refuse to enroll a child solely because the child has a disability or is neurodivergent (such as having an Autism or ADHD diagnosis) if the refusal is based on that disability. That would likely be considered discrimination under the British Columbia Human Rights Code which protects people from discrimination in accessing services because of a physical or mental disability and requires service providers to accommodate needs up to the point of undue hardship. Protected under the Human Rights Code • Disability (including autism, ADHD or other neurodivergence) is a protected characteristic under the Code. • Daycare programs are services customarily available to the public, and therefore the Code applies to them in how they provide access.  • Refusing admission because of a child’s disability would be a negative impact on access to that service on the basis of a protected characteristic, which is discrimination unless justified and reasonable accommodations are offered.” So if you’re looking to enroll your child, just know their professionalism really isn’t there and they probably can’t handle your child if they aren’t a neurotypical and perfectly well behaved unicorn.
