Dr. Robert Chen is to-date one of the best physicians I have met. He is very understanding, respectful and positively engages in conversation. He always accommodates to your needs and provides useful advice when desired. Unfortunately, the medical industry consists majorly of physicians writing up prescriptions and sending patients home. Dr. R. Chen takes the time to consider your concern and advises you in various ways. First physician that I have been to that operates in this manner, and will not switch to another.

Dr. Chen is the best doctor I’ve ever seen in North America. Im a foreign temporary immigrant who has been in the States for seven years and Canada for four years. Being a foreigner is not easy, and finding medical attention is extremely hard. I don’t have family physician, so I had to walk around and try walk-in clinics only. During the pandemic everything just got harder for everyone, all the clinics are having long line and refusing walk-in patients. I’m in early pregnancy and have some bleeding going on, I visited four walk in clinics in Vaughan during the storm day, and finally, Dr. Chen is the only one who was willing to see me. He explained everything and ordered several tests for me, with patience. And he called me in the morning right after he got the tests result back, no reception in the middle, he just keep calling me until I picked up my phone. He explained everything to me and ordered me more tests, he was also showing concern that I don’t have family doctor and OB. I have never had such a long talk with any doctor, this was the first time that I can feel a doctor really cares about his patients, rather then rushing to finish the conversation. He was trying his best to solve my problems. I highly recommend him.

My husband and I selected this clinic as our family doctor but the doctors here been unfriendly while addressing my problems. The first time I came here, I told Dr. Coutts my issue, and he actually (word for word) said "So what do you want me to do?" So unprofessional. I don't know what type of communication training they had but it was obviously lacking. I've had better treatment at a walk-in clinic close to me. I understand that doctors are generally stressed and burnt out, but don't take it out on your patients. If you need a break, take a weekend off. My mother is a nurse and she works longer hours than these doctors do, and she does not speak to any of her patients using that tone of voice. I do not know all of the doctors here, but the two that I did work with did not meet expectations.
