I couldn’t recommend DSBCD enough to any family looking to join a dance community. The owners and teachers know how to inspire creativity and growth in their dancers, and know what it takes to teach dancers of all ages. Ms Madeleine Twyman is an incredible creative force and my mind is blown by the uniqueness in her choreography and the storytelling in her dances. I’m so thankful that my daughter has been able to learn from her directly. Highly recommend DSBCD for all dance styles including ballet, contemporary, acro, jazz, tap and hip hop, for both boys and girls!

We love DSBCD. My daughter is dancing here for the third year running and does both ballet and jazz/acro. This is a family run studio with good facilities and an excellent philosophy. My daughter has always enjoyed dancing here and I think they do a great job of catering to a wide range of needs in their dancers, from the tiny ones who just want to play, the recreational dancers who are there to have fun through to the competitive dancers and those seeking a career in dance.

My daughter has been going to DSBCD for 2 years and loves it. The teachers are wonderful, but most of all, I love how beautifully diverse the community is and how the choreographies always focus on actual dance technique that do not sexualize the dancers! Studio is small but welcoming :)

DSBCD is indeed the perfect fit. I was worried that we would not find the right studio when we moved to Durham region. We visited quite a few studios and this one was it. The teachers are not only technically sound, but they also encourage dancers to do their best while staying true to who they are. My daughter has gained confidence, wonderful technique training but most importantly a good friend group and caring adults who look after the well-being of the dancers inside and out.

This dance company is amazing. Their dancers are so diverse in so many ways. Coming from a diverse background I was worried about my daughter getting into dance (especially here in Durham) and how it would affect her but being a part of a community that centers excellence and not an ideal body type is amazing. My child can herself in the senior team and can see that she won't be limited. Love the owners who are down to earth, kind and caring.
