Garthwood Park is a lovely outdoor space in Mississauga that families can enjoy for a casual outing.

What to expect

This park offers a natural setting for children to explore and play outdoors. While it's a great spot for fresh air and activity, it's primarily an open park space without specific indoor amenities for inclement weather.

Best for

Perfect for a sunny afternoon when kids need to run around and enjoy nature.

What parents say

The park is nice. With big grass areas to do multiple activities. But the children's games are not the best thing, they are decent, but pretty basic. The zone is a safe one, and almost everytime you go, there are kids playing around.

They recently built the most dangerous playground after the last one broke. I have no idea what they were thinking. It’s like they thought what’s the best way for a child to get hurt and then build it. Whoever was the creative mind behind this playground really needs to find a new career.

Agree with another reviewer who said the new playground is dangerous. The playground used to be smaller but age appropriate for toddlers. The rebuilt one looks new and nice but the step going up the slide is way too high for toddlers to climb up, there's not even anything to hold onto. Coming down is another problem, the gap between the slide and the floor is way too big. Parents shouldn't be expected to be down there trying to catch the kid each time they come down but you had to otherwise they'll fly forward either hitting their butt on the floor or even worse lean forward and hit their face on the floor. Yes parental supervision is needed for toddlers but these slides were very toddler unfriendly.

Quaint park behind the public school. Decent playground and if field if you want to play soccer, picnic, and also a path to ride your bike or teach the young ones. Has a baby swing and also a basket swing for infants. What I like is that it has lower monkey bars than other parks we’ve been to. I haven’t seen any public restrooms except for “nature” and a port-a-potty.

Decent park behind the school. Nice playground and field if you want to play soccer. Bike riding, swing and skate paths for kids are also there. Sunset looks gorgeous from the park. Lots of greenery and trees in and around the park.
