We recently discovered Gimikz, a new spot in Pickering serving homemade, traditional Filipino food with a soulful, modern flair—and it did not disappoint. Our party of six ordered a wide variety of dishes, and every single one delivered. Some standout favourites were the Gimikz rolls (both pork and chicken), the sizzling pork belly sisig, pork BBQ sticks, and the Pancit ala Gimikz (bihon), all packed with flavour and cooked to perfection. Dessert was just as impressive, with a delicious lineup that included crispy leche flan, turon duo, Tito Parley’s silvana, and Lolo Ben’s biko—each one a treat in its own right. Despite our many (and frequent!) requests to order more food, the staff were incredibly accommodating and welcoming throughout the evening. Adding to the experience was fantastic live entertainment, which elevated the already vibrant atmosphere. Between the beautiful live music, amazing food, and warm service, the overall vibe was lively and highly enjoyable. I highly recommend checking out this fabulous restaurant—you won’t leave disappointed.

My wife and I had an amazing experience here. The atmosphere was warm, inviting, and full of good energy. The staff were incredibly friendly, always smiling, and genuinely happy to help. The owner was greeting customers and had such a welcoming presence, even bidding us goodbye as we headed out. The service was easily 20 out of 10. The food was just as impressive. The wings are absolutely to die for and every dish we tried was packed with flavour. As a Filipino, I’m usually pretty picky with Filipino restaurant food since home cooked meals often taste better, but this place completely blew me away. The flavours were on point and everything tasted like it was made with real care. They also have live music, which brings such a great vibe although we didn’t get to catch the performance this time because we left a bit early, but we’re definitely coming back for it! Plus, they offer karaoke for customers, which adds a fun touch to the whole experience. I’m all for supporting new restaurants, and this one truly lived up to my expectations. We loved every part of our visit. This new spot in Pickering is a gem and we’re so happy we found it. Highly recommended and absolutely worth coming back to again and again.

Amazing food, service, and atmosphere. Everyone was super friendly and they even offer free karaoke on most days. I ordered the embotido silog for lunch and it was so delicious i’m still thinking about it 😍 Highly recommend if you enjoy Filipino food!

From the moment we entered Gimikz, I knew this place was special. Rose (daughter to the owners) our waitress was friendly from the moment we sat down and recommended her favourite dishes and what has been most popular on the menu. We warmed up with the calamansi tea and I am hooked! I dont get to have home cooked Filipino food often and the food here did not disappoint. We had the Crispy Pork Kare-Kare. 10++++ in flavour. We also had the Pansit and chose the blend of bihon and canton noodles. This was topped with BBQ chicken and nice blend of vegetable topping. Totally reminded me of my Mom's pancit. We also had the Gimikz rolls which were good. Chicken, pork and veggie lumping with 3 different dipping sauces. For dessert we shared a Pistachio Sylvana and the Turon Duo. Both desserts finished off our meal in the sweetest most delightful way. Rey and his wife Rose have put together an amazing menu and have built a gem I am so proud to recommend to others. We will be back again for a karaoke session.

This place has got to be the best dine-in, made-to-order Filipino restaurant yet. We found the place on Google Maps to get my fix for Filipino food and we’re glad to have found this place. The flavour of the calamansi chicken wings is one of the best we’ve have ever tried for wings. Right balance of crispiness and salt. We also ordered pancit bihon with a bit of crispy pork belly, braised beef kare-kare, and the pork crackle belly. The portion size is quite big and very flavourful, reminding me of home cooking yet in an elevated restaurant style. Ended with dessert with the Ubelicious Flan, which has a top layer of leche flan and a bottom layer of ube halaya. Heavy but worth getting. The staff were very friendly and accommodating and they gave a surprise mini chocolate cake with a topping of a vanilla ice cream scoop and a candle affixed to it for a birthday and another couple celebrating their anniversary. A nice touch. They also had live music which made the whole environment very jovial, relaxing, and enjoyable. They said that they have live musicians on Friday and Saturday nights. There’s an inexpensive cover charge for dining with live music. Overall, we highly recommend this place. Looking forward to trying their other mains, drinks, and desserts 😀
