  Terrible experience - we toured the facility and they seemed great. One week prior to starting, I inquired about if they had air conditioning, and if not, how they ensured the health and safety of the children in regards to not overheating (it was during a heat wave). I was informed that they did not have any "fancy temperature measuring devices" and that no parents had every inquired about it before. If it was hot, they moved in a portable air conditioning unit or opened windows. They determined if it was hot by if the teachers were hot or not. They had no policies in place regarding acceptable temperature ranges for inside (they had rules around outside), nor digital thermometers in the class rooms. I highlighted to them that Calgary had several heat waves over the last two summers, and that other child care facilities that I contacted (including our current one) had air conditioning and a clear policy on the health and safety of the children during heat waves. I was fine with them not having air conditioning, but I needed to know that the room could be maintained at a safe temperature. They could not tell me what the maximum or average temperatures would be in the room, during heat waves. After a bit of back and forth, I was informed that it was clear I didn't trust them enough to care for my child, so we were not suited for their facility, and they returned my deposit. This left me scrambling to find child care with one week's notice. In discussing this with licensing and health, I was assured that this was a legitimate issue to be inquiring on. No child care provider will have my blind trust, and I would expect that every provider would be able to answer basic health and safety questions. Thankfully I was able to get into an alternative facility that was not at all put off when I inquired about how they ensured the health and safety of my child when in their care. Heat waves are a normal part of Calgary summers now, and excessive heat exposure for vulnerable persons (inc children) can be a significant health threat. I am super glad that we are not going to be attending a facility that expects my blind trust when unable to address what should be a simple question (ie. yes, we have digital thermometers in each room, and ensure that they temperature is maintained below 28 degrees during heat waves).

  THE most amazing daycare! Absolutely cannot express how amazing this place is. Very open communication and the most friendly staff. Kelly and Nora really know what they’re doing running this childcare center. My boy was incredibly shy and reserved before he started here and now he has grown SO much. Get your kids in here if you can, you won’t regret it!

  I truly cannot express how wonderful this daycare is. Our kiddo has been here since he turned one and we have never had any issues. Kelly is extremely responsive and communicative as a director, and the teachers are incredible. The transition into daycare was made so easy and we have been pleased with how our child’s severe allergy has been handled. I never worry about my child when he is here, such a relief! I would recommend Inverleigh to everyone, they are absolutely fantastic.

  What a wonderful center! Both of our children have had amazing experiences at the center. And their meal menu is one of the best. Our kids were introduced to healthy eating at such a young age, especially eating vegies and fruits. When we go out, people always ask how is that our 10-year-old and 5-year-old love their salads and fruits, and we tell them to find a preschool with a good menu plan! Our daughter is one of the few girls in her class who love math, and we credit that to the Montessori program. The center has given our son a good foundation as he moves on to kindergarten. Our appreciation to all the teachers who have interacted with our children over the past 7 years, from the toddler room, play based program, Montessori program and during nap time. We appreciate the care they provided to our children, their kindness, encouragement, igniting their imagination, and creating some of their best memories in preschool. They helped them to shine, and the foundation they have will continue to help them shine wherever they go. Thank you
