The care givers at Light child care centre are so wonderful! They provide a welcoming and loving environment for my daughter that makes me feel so happy that she is comfortable there. It is a very clean and well kept centre. That provides early childhood learning for my little one and she really enjoys interacting with all the kids there.

I am extremely happy with the daycare where I send my daughter. The educators are caring, patient, and truly dedicated to creating a safe and nurturing environment. The center is clean, well-organized, and full of engaging materials that support children’s growth. I feel confident knowing she is in loving hands, and I appreciate the wonderful communication and support the staff provides. I had high hopes for this daycare and did enroll my child initially; however, after careful consideration, I ultimately decided that this centre was not the right fit for our family. During orientation, I was informed that children are separated by age into smaller classrooms and that the teacher-to-child ratio is one educator for every eight children. However, on multiple occasions, I observed all children grouped together in one room. Additionally, my primary concern was witnessing one educator supervising eleven children, which did not align with what was communicated to me. I also noticed that one educator had significant difficulty communicating in English. Clear and effective communication is extremely important to me and is a non-negotiable factor when it comes to the care and safety of young children. This raised serious concerns. Furthermore, questions I raised were often not answered directly, and the integration process felt very abrupt and not as gentle or supportive as I believe is necessary, particularly for young children. When it comes to our children’s well-being, I feel it is important to share my honest experience. Editing to respond to response: There were no other teachers. I was there for a long time during pick up as the teacher lost my child’s backpack. The room was dark and empty and the other room had all of the children and one teacher. I was also told that only that teacher was there and the manager, you Nav were not present. The first day during orientation, I also noticed a teacher grab a child’s arm harshly as she had left the classroom and ran to the entrance where we were. Absolutely not acceptable to handle a child this way. On my way out I was trying to ask the teacher how my son’s day was. She did not understand anything I was saying and kept saying “okay okay”. A teacher must know the language that the children speak. How are young children supposed to communicate their needs. I saw children asking the teacher questions and they children were being ignored because she had no idea what was being asked. There are no excuses for this and I think all parents should be aware. I am a person of colour who speaks multiple languages so I am not coming from a bad place when I am saying how important it is for an educator to speak English to understand the children. I remained very respectful in my review but when it comes to children, I felt as it was my obligation to share my experience so others don’t go through this. I was also emailed already and you asked me to delete my review which I will absolutely not do as my experience is not something that can be erased. Your daycare caused a lot of stress on my child and us as parents. Even when I told you that we will not be returning you replied with saying you viewed cameras and everything was fine. If you truly reviewed your footage you would have seen how not okay the entire situation was. Wishing you the best with your daycare, but I will never recommend your facility to anyone personally due to what I saw.
