Little Munchkin was our first ever daycare experience. We had excellent communication from the program coordinator and contact with the floor manager before our in-person visit. The administrative staff at Little Munchkin have been very helpful and quick to respond to any questions. Our child started at Holland Street centre and moved to Granville centre for a full-time position. The staff at both centres have been incredible. They are so kind, friendly and caring to us and our child. We drop off our child at the front door and they run into daycare, excited to see the educators and their friends. It has been such a relief to see how much our baby loves attending Little Munchkin. We receive photos daily of what our baby has been up to and the staff send us any messages if they need to. Communication is fast and easy on their phone app. We're sad to be leaving our friends at LM! Thank you to the entire team for our wonderful experience.

My daughter started her daycare program last September on the lower floor. It was new to her as she spent 18 months just at home with me. Ma Jenifer, her teacher, helped us to make a smooth transition for our baby girl, always making sure that she was feeling the best there. She also gave us advice on how we could help our child feel more comfortable and confident. The transition took a couple of weeks and now she feels at home there with Ms. Jenifer and the friends that she made there. We are very grateful and happy for all the love and care towards our daughter from all the team.

Our daughter really loves going to see Jennifer and the team at the downstairs daycare. We get lots of photos of her having a great time doing art and playing outside. The space has a different vibe from some of the larger care centers but we are really happy with the care provided here.

My little one has been attending Little Munchkin Daycare at 52nd/Granville upper floor since he was 1.5 year old. Next month will mark the (very emotional!!) last month we'll have with this daycare as he ages out. I have been very fortunate to have our lovely teachers Yuna, Melanie, and Bella, being part of our life. Our teachers have put tremendous effort in creating a program that helped my son flourish. They are very caring and patient to help kids adapt to the environment and with their needs. The communications between parents and teachers are always very clear. I have been very happy with their activities, which ranges from arts & craft, music, physical movement, reading, sensory activities etc etc. The daily pictures we got was such a treat to help me connect with what my son has been doing during the day. There is so much growth I could see over the past 1.5 years we have been there. I'm going to truly miss everything with this daycare. I would 100% recommend this daycare <3

It's our last week at Little Munchkin, and we are sad to leave! My son has been at the 52nd & Granville location for almost two years. It's his second home where he plays and laughs and learns, and the staff are like family to us. We have nothing but good reviews. Get the spot if you're offered; it's a wonderful place to send your child. Best: So many things! Life at Little Munchkin is more than peace of mind for us. The teachers really get to know their kids individually and care about them! Worst: They have two 1-week closures, one in summer and one after New Year's - so staff can have a break too. Plenty of notice though, and stays open between Christmas and New Year's. Specifics: Waitlist/registration: We were waitlisted for a dozen daycares around town and Mohammad was the only person who got back to us before my mat leave ended. Part-time spot turned full-time at the same location, even through covid. Mohammad actually cares about the families, unlike some other places that act like they don't need your business. COVID: Centre never closed due to covid but reduced staffing due to fewer kids. We were lucky enough to stay in the same location. Health protocols are in place and updated regularly, emailed out to parents with reminders in app. Manager is reasonable at enforcing policies, friendly but firm, just what you want in a toddler care provider. Policies were sometimes unclear but we just asked to clarify, and remembered that safety is first and respect goes both ways. Location: House on a residential street, fully fenced backyard with several playhouses, pirate ship, slides, etc. Nap room separate. Teachers stay with children in room. Main floor is infant program (8) and basement for toddlers (8). Schedule: Infant group is somewhat flexible to the child for nap time and helped my son transition and build a regular schedule. Toddler group has daily outdoor play in the morning and two-hour nap/quiet time 1 to 3. Opens between 8 and 5:30, though most kids are gone by 5pm these days. Food: Centre provides snacks AM, PM; bring your own lunch which can be heated up. Activities: My son has so much fun! Monthly themes, arts, crafts, sensory play, story time, songs, outdoor play, water play on hot days, and actual learning (days of the week, games with alphabet, planets, etc.). Also practice safety drills regularly. Staff: Teachers are caring and kind, and obviously love working with children. Our son even learned a few words of Korean and Mandarin. ECE certified (see activities), professional and reliable. At pick-up, teachers also tells us of any behaviour issues, health problems, or just fun moments in the day. Communication with family: App that notifies check-in/out, food, potty, nap; daily photos of playtime, birthdays; reminder for closures, etc. The 10:30 photo drop is the highlight of my day! Potty training: It's the parents' job but staff will support once the child is reliable enough to not have frequent accidents. We sent our son in pull-ups with prompts for potty until teachers told us he can be in training pants. Finally, a great big hug to all the teachers we've ever had at Little Munchkin! Thank you, Emily, Yuka, and Nicole for making it easy to leave my little guy and go back to work with peace of mind! Thank you to Julia, Ahra, Hannah, and Seul, for a happy toddlerhood and so much love!
