Solid choice for high quality and consistently good Japanese food in York Region. The sushi is fresh and well prepared, the chirashi being my personal favorite. Overall highly recommended and do try the spicy salmon, it's certainly among my most preferred options. The family will also point out the shrimp tempura is that perfect balance of crunchy, delicious, and enjoyable. A+

Absolutely Exceptional – A Must-Visit! Minami Sushi is hands down one of the best sushi dining experiences I've had in a long time. From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere is warm, welcoming, and stylish without being pretentious. The service was top-notch—attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about every dish on the menu. Now, the sushi… absolutely phenomenal. Every piece was fresh, expertly prepared, and beautifully presented. Even the miso soup and appetizers were a step above. If you're a sushi lover—or just appreciate great food—Minami Sushi is a must. I’ll definitely be back, and I’ll be bringing friends. Highly recommend

I looked forward to having lunch here and when I walked in I was impressed with the warm and intimate decor. I liked the menu but didn't like the food unfortunately. I lived in Japan and have visited multiple times and it just doesn't compare to any street food quality I recognize that I recognize. The service was also well below expectation. The server would talk with us as she was passing and did not look at us. In fact she looked away!

A solid choice for sushi. The food is great and the sushi is fresh. I did find the servers did come around a little too frequently to check on us, and it was multiple people checking in. I feel there may have been a lack of communication between the staff on who last checked in on the table. The price is quite expensive for sushi as they do not offer an all you can eat option. For 2 people with one drink it came out to about $140 tax in. The restaurant itself is clean as it should be, but there was nothing that really went above and beyond the typical sushi restaurant you would see elsewhere.

I’ve been coming here for the past couple of years and I always hope Yvette is our waitress. She is honestly the best. She’s so friendly, and always makes the whole experience better. You can tell she really cares about the customers and makes everyone feel welcome. Every time we come in she remembers us, checks in at the perfect times, and just has such a positive attitude. Service like hers is rare and it’s one of the big reasons we keep coming back. If you get Yvette as your waitress, you’re lucky she’s amazing!
