Sent my son to the Meadowvale location for a bit till he got transferred. But the time he was there he had already made friends with the kids and staff. Staff especially has been very helpful to help transition him when he had a hard time initially. Tano has always been sweet and gentle and professional at the same time. Would have continued if we didn't get a spot in a closer location. I was worried initially because it was a new branch but the staff made sure all my questions were answered and that they helped my son to feel at ease in ways that are reassuring. Thankyou Meadowvale staff! Tani and the rest of you too.

My son has been an OG member since it opened, and in these 2+ years, we have recieved the absolute greatest care from everyone on the staff and when we compare to some of our friends child care experiences, we are blessed to be at Meadowvale YMCA! To start, the facility itself is amazing! It's clean, and open and full of fun stuff for the kiddos each day. They have an amazing outdoor space and they are connected to many shaded pathways for walks and outdoor time. The staff are the best! They are welcoming, caring and friendly to all. They are always coming up with new ways to teach, challenge and entertain the kids and the food is delicious and plentiful. 2 servings everyday! It's crazy that it's almost over! We are going to miss this place more than we can ever say in words. The biggest thank yous to Tano, Betty, Sandra, Amutha, Jessica, Michelle, Tibs, Shayla and everyone else in this village that helped us raise our kid so far. We love you! You're the best! Get on the waitlist. This place is worth it!

If I could select more stars to rate the Meadowvale childcare centre I would add as many as I could add. I have had the privilege for my son to have attended this centre. All of the staff are absolutely amazing people that truly care about the well being and success of all the children. It was a bittersweet moment to leave as my son is beginning kindergarten this September. Having the piece of mind that my son was in the best care possible was priceless. My family and I will miss meadowvale and will forever be grateful for the positive impact they made in my sons education. A special thank you to his preschool 2 teachers Sandra and Amutha, the director (Tano) and assistant director (Betty). As well as well as to the rest of the wonderful Meadowvale team you guys are awesome.

This childcare center is absolutely amazing! I am an early childcare educator myself and I can testify that this daycare is exceptional. The resources are abundant, with lots of open-ended materials for the children to explore. If you are considering infant care, their infant room staff is outstanding. They took such great care of my son. I always had my children attend where I worked, however with my son I decided to place him in a different center. I could not be happier with the decision I made. He was loved, nurtured and cared for very well. Yumiko, Sabeen, Tabinda and Renz were so gentle and kind to my son and our family. Currently, my son is in the toddler room and he loves it! He is excited to come to daycare everyday. If you are looking for a play-based center enriched with resources, this is the spot! The supervisor, Tano always makes an effort to greet families and make the children feel special with his words and high-fives. Staff in other classrooms are also very welcoming and friendly often saying hi and bye and calling me by name. I feel my son is safe and cared for and that's what matters most! On top of that, this childcare exceeds my expectations as a parent and educator, myself! Thank you to all the incredible staff at Meadowvale YMCA <3

I would not recommend this daycare for neurodivergent children, as it is neither inclusive nor accommodating. The center supervisor Tano continuously claimed to be "on it" but never followed through on anything. After five months of empty promises, I had to escalate my concerns to the Ministry of Education just to have my child’s IEP implemented. Meanwhile, outside of daycare, my child was progressing well. However, in this unsupportive environment—where teachers refused to understand that nonverbal does not mean non-listening and that autistic children need to be understood and supported— they instead chose to hyper-focus on his behavior and as a result, he regressed multiple times. The mishandling of situations was alarming. On one occasion, my child, who is nonverbal, was seated next to an ESL student while a teacher turned her back on them. When a fight broke out, my child was immediately blamed—despite also being injured—and was never checked for any injuries. It took the center supervisor three weeks to revise an incident report. The teachers' lack of professionalism was also concerning. Shayla and Tebs, in particular, repeatedly ignored my child during drop-offs and pickups, acting as if he was invisible. The breaking point for me was when he was taken outside in -15°C weather with no gloves. He struggles with temperature regulation and was shaking for three hours after pick-up. Yet, the daycare refused to take accountability for their negligence. Instead we have been given the cold shoulder by the supervisor and teachers since bringing up our concerns of a lack of inclusivity for our child. The supervisor actively dismisses input from occupational and behavioral therapists, as well as PIRS. When we explained how a calming space, such as a tent, would help regulate my child, the supervisor claimed it didn’t meet regulations—only for us to later see a tent being used for play. Emails following up on this and other concerns went ignored. Additionally, since my child is nonverbal, I asked for more open communication when my child was having tough days or challenging moments. The point of this was so that when he came home I understood what happened in his day that had him dysregulated, and could support him, but the supervisor refused to accommodate this, saying  "it's group care." When I asked for teachers to share tools PIRS and I were providing. The supervisor again said "it's group care" and was unwilling to understand the importance of communication, consistency and collaboration. The only positive experience of this daycare was the infant room, where the teachers were wonderful with my other child. However, the overall disorganization and discriminatory approach from the supervisor make this a place I cannot recommend for neurodivergent children. Parents seeking an inclusive, understanding, and supportive environment should look elsewhere.
