My 5 year old had a wonderful experience at child in the wild day camp for two weeks. Adults were responsible and caring, left her tons of opportunity for exploration and free play in a safe environment. She came home everyday talking about trees, birds, and feeling proud of all she’d been able to do (half day hikes and forest exploration of all kinds). She will be back! Thank you so much to Trinati and the entire team! ❤️

I had my 8 year old daughter and 5 year old son go to this camp this summer. We had just gotten here from another country. I was very happy and thankful to hear that my kids had a great time, even though they were total beginners in English. Every staff was attentive to the kids, and made effort to not let them feel left out. And of course they had a great experience playing out in the wild.

My son had a wonderful experience this summer! After signing him up for McGill sports camp, he survived one day- (too structured and by the end of the day they all sit in a row in the sun waiting to be picked up) so I was thrilled to have child in the wild- with older more experienced counsellors who are gifted in meeting kids where they’re at while encouraging them to stretch past their comfort zone. he was outdoors all day and surrounded by whimsy, he was so happy, to play in the mud, build castles out of sticks, make nature art, do yoga, it had balance of structure and freedom, and the mixed age group was a lovely way to be encouraged by older kids (who helped him feed the birds!) It’s so hard to find the right fit of camp for your kid, but we found that the “facilities” are not as important as the community and people taking care of your child- and that nature has everything you need to play, imagine and be a kid!

It’s hard to know where to begin describing this incredible daycare and the enormous positive impact attending has on my child and my family. The integrity of the owner and the commitment to nurturing joy and exploration that her team brings to every interaction is unreal, and unlike anything I have witnessed before (including my ten years of experience in the childcare sector.) My child presents with some unique challenges, ones that are acute enough that multiple daycares have given up on him. He was hurting when he arrived at Child in the Wild, but Trinati and her team have poured so much love into him, and given my family countless hours insightful, strategic support just where it’s needed. This playcare is magic! It has grown my child from someone who refused to leave my side without a violent meltdown into a joyful adventure seeker. He comes home from Child in the Wild glowing, brimming with confidence and excited to share stories of his day. He’s thrilled about throwing snow into beaver lake, or rescuing a chipmunk hole from Bigfoot (🤣) or navigating a conflict with growing ease. The pedagogy of the school infuses our home life- he employs strategies he’s learned at play school for moving through tough emotions and social interactions, and he walks confidently into natural spaces places with the fluency of someone who feels at home in nature. The nurturance we have received has been transformative for my entire family, and the staff brings this kind of love and commitment to everything they do with kiddos. Trinati has created a climate where children are truely honored, their imaginations ignited and their wildness adored. I truely cannot recommend this playcare highly enough.

Sitting down to plan our summer and thinking back on how wonderful a time our 5 year old had at Child In The Wild last summer. He came home everyday happy, energized and full of stories. Over the course of the three weeks he was at camp his confidence and calm grew. After camp, it was delightful to experience him leading us through the park as he showed us all of his favorite spots and the memories they held. Being brand new to Montreal, we as parents appreciated the warm and welcoming families whose children attended the camp. Thank you Trinati and the entire staff!
