  Extremely disappointing and concerning experience. Our child was accepted and we paid the registration fee. After that, the administrator abruptly reversed the decision, citing a vague “background check” and saying it left a “bitter taste,” without any clear or objective explanation. To be clear, we personally contacted our previous daycare after this and were explicitly told there was no issue, that everything was fine on their end, and that this was communicated. The reason for changing daycares had also been openly disclosed from the very first meeting. Despite this, the decision was still reversed. The handling of this situation felt arbitrary, inconsistent, and unjustified, especially after acceptance and payment. The overall tone from administration was unwelcoming, and the process raised serious concerns about bias, personal judgments, and whether families are being evaluated fairly and equally. For a new school claiming Montessori values, this reflects poor leadership, lack of transparency, and questionable integrity. I would strongly caution parents—particularly families from diverse backgrounds—to think carefully before enrolling or paying any fees.

  We’ve had a wonderful experience with Oakleigh. Staff are professional, welcoming and communicative. The space is organized, welcoming and calm. We have been particularly impressed with how accommodating and attentive staff have been with our son who has a medical condition that requires some special accommodation.

Both the facility and lessons are thoughtfully planned out and each and every one of the staff members cares deeply about the kids and their development. They’re always responsive when we have questions and communication is high on their priority list. We’ve particularly enjoyed the updates and pictures of our son working on whatever it is they have going on that week. We have watched our son develop a love of learning and eagerness that we didn’t see in previous facilities.

From the engaging field trips to the beautifully maintained facility, every detail reflects the intention and heart of the teachers and admin staff. Watching our daughter run to her teachers every day with open arms and a big smile to be met with a big smile and even bigger hug right back is the best part of it all! The campus itself is incredible — so much green space, room to explore, and an environment that feels both nurturing and inspiring. It’s clear that the school prioritizes not just learning, but overall well-being and connection to nature. We feel so lucky to be part of the Oakleigh community and especially grateful to Meghan, the owner and Director. The dedication, warmth, and professionalism she brings each day make all the difference and reflected just as strongly in the staff and teachers. We couldn’t recommend Oakleigh more highly!
