Beyond teaching the physical movements, the instructors are invested in ensuring students feel like a part of the dojo family, understand the purpose and history behind the discipline, and become a well rounded martial artist.   I've been attending TaiChi classes here for about 2 years now, and it has been a really positive experience. I not only feel physical and mental health benefits, but I enjoy the social aspect of it as well. The instructors and staff are all competent and pleasant people. As others have commented, there's a family-like atmosphere here. It's is a very warm, friendly and inviting place.

  Our daughter started in July 2025. We wernt sure how she'd like it or how she would do but loves it and has done so well and in just a few short months earned her 2nd belt! She is disciplined in the dojo, focuses and works hard to earn her stripes. She loves talking to Hanchi before or after class, hearing his stories, advice and wisdom and really enjoys when he surprise teaches a class! We can't wait to see how far she'll go and look forward to many more years of her belonging to the Martial arts of Port Credit dojo family.

  My son began training here online during the pandemic and has been part of the dojo ever since. What started virtually, as something to stay active during a challenging time, quickly became something truly special. Karate has helped him build confidence, focus, and discipline, and he genuinely looks forward to every class. ALL of the instructors are fantastic, but a special shout-out goes to Shihan Mercier (Diana). She brings incredible energy to every class, private lesson, and camp session. Even from the front desk as she organizes everything, her enthusiasm and dedication are clear. Port Credit Academy of Marital Arts is more than just a place to learn karate; it is a welcoming, supportive community that we are grateful to be part of.

  I’ve been taking both of my kids to Port Credit Academy of Martial Arts since they were 3 years old and now my son who is 8 is a senior green belt and my daughter who is 7 is a jr green belt. They have accomplished so much and built up so much confidence and discipline. The staff and all the instructors are amazing such a great place to be!
