I am writing to share a concerning experience we had at the Burlington branch Ontario during what was supposed to be a free trial session for my child. I had booked the session online and received two messages regarding the timing — one mentioned 30 minutes and the other 45 minutes. When we arrived (3 minutes late), there was no registration record under our names. The front desk gentleman registered us manually and allowed my child into the classroom. When I asked what time the session would end, I was told 15 minutes, which was confusing given the earlier messages. During this time, the staff member began explaining membership details and about Steamoji in what felt like a very pushy sales. I thanked him for information and mentioned that I was interested in enrolling but wanted to wait until my child completed the session so I could see how they felt before making a decision. When I indicated I would wait in the designated waiting area outside the classroom, I was told very rudely that he was “not done yet” and that I had to sit at the billing counter on a bar stool, despite a comfortable waiting couch being available. I was further told that because a waiver had not been signed, I could not leave the premises and that in the past parents have left their child for more that 2 hours — which I clarified I only intended to sit in the waiting area inside the building. I was then told, “The waiting area is for the registered parents and that If you can’t sit on the bar stool and wait, you should take your child and leave.” This was extremely shocking and disrespectful. When I asked for my child to be called out so we could leave, they were abruptly removed from the session. My child was visibly shaken by the experience. I chose this centre based on its positive reviews. However, I also noticed signage indicating that customers receive 1000 points for leaving a good review, which raises concerns about the authenticity of the feedback. This is a children’s educational centre. I expected professionalism, clarity in communication, and respectful treatment — especially in front of children. I hope this feedback is taken seriously and addressed appropriately.

A wonderful experience at Steamoji! My child has been learning here for over a year and truly enjoys the classes. The curriculum is well-rounded—not just coding, but also mechanics, robotics, 3D design, and creative building. We’ve seen clear improvement in problem-solving skills and confidence in presenting projects. Caring, professional instructors and engaging programs. Highly recommend!
