I cannot recommend Step Above enough. The owner is a gem, and the teachers are warm, welcoming and professional. The environment is bright, clean, and fun. We feel cared for, safe, and our little one absolutely loves it here. We could not be happier with the care we receive!

This is the second daycare our daughter has been to in Halifax and she couldnt be happier here. The staff are phenomenal. Every encounter I have had with them has been positive and our little girl loves them like family. Would recommend to anyone seeking childcare.

This daycare is very clean, teachers are very friendly and kind, food served is cooked and tasty. Good location and onsite garden gated playing area. The owner is absolute very helpful Overall the vibes of this day care is amazing and warm. Kids go and come back happy which what matters.

We recently decided to withdraw our child from Step Above Childcare Centre due to several concerns that are also recently issued violations of Nova Scotia's childcare regulations. Firstly, there is a noticeable issue with strong perfumes worn by staff and the owner, which conflicts with regulations requiring indoor play spaces to be free from odours and suitably ventilated. Additionally, the use of disinfecting solutions is excessive to the point that the chemical smell is pervasive, which is not only unpleasant but also a concern for the health and comfort of the children. Moreover, I observed that toddlers under the age of two were allowed screen time, which goes against Health Canada’s recommendations. Finally, the children are rarely taken outside during winter months, which is concerning as outdoor play is essential for child development regardless of season. These are the main issues that led us to question the overall adherence to child welfare and safety regulations at this facility. I believe parents should be aware of these concerns.

I was incredibly lucky to be able to have my daughter attend this daycare, she absolutely loved it and was always sad to head home for the day. The people who work here are great and the atmosphere is very positive. I think the best thing I can say is the only reason we're not still there is I moved to Dartmouth but still considered if it was possible to keep coming to this location every day. I have recommend Step Above Childcare in the past and would still do so to anyone looking.
