Our daughter started going to Sunburst around 6 months ago when she was around 18 months. We couldn't have been happier with our decision. The single most important reason why Sunburst is a great daycare is its staff. They are attentive, knowledgeable, and extremely good with the kids. When we started searching for daycares, we saw some shiner places with larger spaces as well, but soon our friends that had more experience told us to focus on the staff as they had experiences where the child would hate the daycare or have issues ... (shared a lot of stories). When we went in to see it, it was nap time, and we saw two of the teachers laying there in between the toddler cabbies with their arms covering as many of the kids as they can reach and the kids felt safe. That's when I knew this was the place to go. The centre is in a federal building (environment Canada) and a lot of the other kids in the day care are from highly educated/professional parents that work in there or the cloesby Sanofi Pasteur vaccine production plant (which is a huge facility that used to be part of UofT). The day care is not too big and not too small. Just the right size. Good security and they allow for a lot of flexibility (e.g. if your child needs certain type of milk or ...) With the crazy wait times in other day cares in the area, this is a true hidden gem.

Cathty Or who is executive director is very friendly and she is always reachable. She always sends news, happenings for a month. Teachers are very helpful, friendly... My son joined this daycare when he was 1 year old, he learned and improved a lot. I could see how he loved his teachers. We were really sad that we had to change the daycare. Wishing them all the best.

My wife and I went for a tour recently for our son, who we hope to enroll here in the future. The Executive Director, Cathy Orr, was very professional, informative, and patient. She never rushed the tour, answering all questions we had, and showed us a lot more of the facility than we were expecting. It was evident, as one other reviewer said, that the staff were caring and dedicated. Many staff had long term years in the field and at Sunburst. I started recommending this place to other friends who are looking for day care, even if it means more competition for my son to get in, because they are that fantastic!
