After meeting with several other facilities we decided to go with Sylvan Learning and we feel as though we made an excellent choice. When our son started he was behind in reading and language and showed very little confidence in himself as a learner and a class participant. He has been at Sylvan for 8 months and has shown tremendous improvement. He has built confidence and is approaching his reading level for grade two. I might have given zero star but there a no option. I paid Sylvan a month's fees for a French class that my son never attended. We cancelled the class and requested a refund. It's now been almost four months, and the franchisee hasn’t returned our money or responded to our calls. Avoid this place. It’s not the right environment for any child to learn in.

I would give zero stars if that were possible. I paid Sylvan Learning for my son’s French classes for June 2025. Two classes were cancelled because no teacher was available. Since then, I have sent multiple emails, made repeated follow-up requests, and called several times — all without any response. I formally requested a refund, and nearly seven months later, we still have not received our money or any communication from them. This level of unprofessionalism and lack of accountability is unacceptable, especially from an organization that claims to support children’s education. I strongly do not recommend this centre. If they cannot provide teachers, communicate with families, or return money owed, this is not a trustworthy or safe learning environment for any child.
