We went to the Steeles location and had a fantastic experience. The food had so much flavor and gave a homemade feel. The doubles were the best we have ever had. There is so much care in the service and quality of the food. Portion sizes were a bargain. The hot sauce was phenomenal, with spice and with flavor. We will stop here whenever we are in the area without hesitation—some of the best Caribbean food we have had, hands down.

I ordered the oxtail. The food came quick. The restaurant is clean. The food itself tastes good but the portion was 100% not worth it. $20 plus tax for literally 8 small pieces of oxtail with big bones. Although the food tastes good, due to the small portion I will not be a repeat customer.

They actually have authentic Trinidadian doubles, pholaurie, and roti. Very happy with the food and the owner is a sweet lady. The tamarind sauce is great on everything. I haven't had such amazing food since my favourite place in Scarborough stopped making it. I only get to indulge when visiting relatives as I no longer live in Toronto but yes I did get some every day when visiting! Yumyumyum! Thank you for the amazing meal. :)

I wanted to love this restaurant so bad. The food is not horrible. I think I just had greater expectations because the reviews were very positive and the rating was high. However, will say… the flavour in the chicken is there I couldn’t taste anything else because I got it spicy and the heat was extremely unpleasant. I purchased the stew chicken as shown in the photo. The coleslaw didn’t have any flavour but it still worked well especially with the heat. Customer service was good. The man at the counter was very inviting and patient as I figured out what to order.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ If you’re looking for authentic Caribbean food, this is the spot! Aneal’s Taste of the Island is truly a hidden gem on Steeles. The food is absolutely amazing — fresh, flavorful, and made with real island love. The pholourie is on point best I have ever had, the doubles are packed with flavor, and the roti is perfectly done. Every bite tastes authentic and homemade. You can tell they take pride in their cooking. Highly recommended for anyone craving real Caribbean cuisine in the area. Five stars all the way — I’ll definitely be back!
