Amazing French cuisine class! My boyfriend and I enjoyed the class, the food, the instruction, the chefs, the service, and the other participants. It was an awesome experience. We will definitely return and recommend to others.

The Knife Skills 101 class was fun! We julienned and diced vegetables, preparing a green mango salad and minestrone soup, and we de-boned and stuffed chicken thighs. Chef Vanessa offered great tips, and it was nice to learn and practice with 8 other attendees in a low-key environment. Having cheese and crackers to snack on was a nice touch. Everything was delicious when I had it at home later. So glad to have this in Etobicoke, will definitely be taking more classes at Aphrodite Cooks!

My partner and I attended the Valentine's Day Couples Cooking Class (Mediterranean) and were very disappointed. It was advertised as hands-on. However, during the class, the only cooking we did was rolling out and placing flatbread dough on a griddle and throwing already prepped ingredients into a risotto and stirring while it cooked (which we had to take turns doing with another couple). This was definitely not a hands-on / make-from-scratch type class. The dip and salad were made on the side with instruction to only a few participants who asked questions about them. The dessert was gluten-free, made prior to the class, and the recipe involved boiling oranges for 2 hours (why?). We weren't given the recipes until after the class so there was no way to follow along and ask questions/take notes etc. On top of all of this, the food was very mediocre. I have attended other short hands-on cooking classes with better format and were MUCH more worth it. If you just want a night out, then this is fine. If you actually want to learn something, then this is not for you.

I absolutely loved the ‘Introduction to the Mexican Kitchen’ cooking class! Vanessa is a masterful instructor. Not only were the recipes we made delicious, but they were easy and fun to prepare under Vanessa’s instruction. I also loved how social the evening was… we made so many new friends and especially enjoyed the end of class when we got to eat the salsas, guacamole, and carne asada tacos we made. And lastly, the churros we made for dessert…. AMAZING! I highly recommend this cooking class experience for either beginners or experienced cooks. It will leave a lasting impression!
