  Coey has been our son's music teacher for over 10 years. She has walked with him through music since before he could read, and is now prepping him for his high school level RCM exams. Coey has unique qualities for a music teacher - she has very high standards, understands what motivates her students, and focuses not only on the technicals (and she's very detailed here) but also on her students "feeling" the music. Over the years, we are amazed at how she is our son's partner in this key part of his life - where they collaborate, discuss and debate theory and the roots and the pieces they choose to learn and play. We appreciate her style, her commitment to excellence while being compassionate and never harsh or belittling. A very rare gift.

  My daughter wanted to learn how to play for a long time. We inherited a piano and she loved to play all the time. I decided to get her lessons in order to grow her love for this instrument. Unfortunately, the lessons were overwhelming and created nothing but extra work and anxiety. It was a struggle to get her to complete all the practice and theory every week. Asking a child to complete 5 units of theory in one week is too much! My teen no longer wanted to play and wanted nothing to do with the piano. If you’re looking for an intense program… this is for you! If you’re looking to learn in a fun environment…. this is not for you. I was asked to review, and suggestions of what to say were made… I really didn’t like that. A review should be genuine and come directly from the review. I decided to check the review out of curiosity when I got a notification indicating that it was being liked. I attached photos to confirm that her edited reply is untrue. As for my 13 year old daughter stopping by the studio afterwards to talk about music… completely untrue! She was dared on Halloween night to knock at the door for candy- not to discuss her love of music! As for the warmth that was given… the door couldn’t have closed any faster! FYI… my daughter still wants nothing to do with the piano

  I used to play piano as a child, however life got in the way and I lost the spark for it. I decided to get back into music and without a doubt I chose Coey as my teacher. She’s passionate and an expert in her craft. As an adult learner I appreciate her tailoring the lessons and expectations towards my needs and learning style.
