  I was the kind of piano player who could bang out a few chords, stumble my way through a melody by ear, and occasionally impress friends and family with something that sounded like music. What I couldn’t do was actually read sheet music or play with any kind of consistency. I knew I needed guidance, but I also knew I needed a teacher who would “get” me — especially as an adult and a neurodiverse learner. Enter Beth. From day one, she has been patient, encouraging, and endlessly adaptable in her teaching style. She doesn’t just follow a rigid lesson plan; she meets me where I’m at, and somehow always knows how to break things down in a way that finally clicks. I leave every lesson not only feeling like I’ve actually learned something, but also like I’ve had a genuinely good time. Her in-home studio is cozy and welcoming, and her personality shines through in every interaction. Beth has that rare gift of being both a highly skilled teacher and someone who feels more like a friend. We always seem to find something to laugh about, which makes even the tricky stuff feel lighter. I mean, if you can’t laugh when your fingers are doing everything except what you asked them to, what’s the point? Beth has helped me bridge the gap between “just messing around on the keys” and actually building real musicianship. I'm actually learning to read music, understand what I’m playing, and play with a level of confidence I never thought possible. If you’re looking for a piano teacher who is not only incredibly talented but also kind, funny, and deeply supportive, I can’t recommend Beth highly enough.
