  Such an amazing daycare! So much warmth and hospitality here. My daughter is so happy and is learning so much about socializing and her motor skills are developing so nicely. The teachers are fabulous and it’s such a bonus that the director is a registered nurse.   Our daughter started attending Blossom Academy Daycare in 2024 at the age of 2. At that time, the daycare was owned by Maria and Radka, who had been running it for over 19 years. Under their management, we had a generally positive experience and felt comfortable. Toward the end of their ownership, however, it seemed the daycare was facing financial difficulties. There were times when there were not enough beds or basic necessities for all the children. Our daughter, for example, sometimes had to nap on a floor mat. Despite this, the educators did their best to care for the children. The daycare was later sold to a new owner, Najat, and after the transition we began to notice several concerns. Running a daycare requires more than academic knowledge, it also requires practical experience managing childcare environments. A new staff member was hired who appeared to have limited daycare experience. While having a bachelor’s degree in psychology is valuable, it does not necessarily replace hands-on childcare experience. We also raised concerns about safety procedures, particularly regarding supervision when children were taken outside and brought back in. When we brought these concerns forward, we felt they were dismissed rather than addressed. During the transition we were told some experienced educators would remain, but this did not last. Maria was no longer there, and later another teacher, Simran, also left. This staff turnover made the environment feel less stable. Because of these issues, we made the difficult decision to withdraw our daughter. We later spoke with several other parents who shared similar concerns and had also decided to move their children elsewhere. We understand that taking over a daycare is challenging, and transitions can take time. However, childcare is a field where parents hope to see leadership that is open to feedback, receptive to concerns, and clearly focused on the well-being of the children above all else. Being open to listening to parents rather than becoming defensive can make a big difference in building trust and creating a positive environment for both families and staff. We do not know if changes have been made since then, and we genuinely hope improvements have taken place. Our intention in sharing this experience is simply to encourage continued focus on experienced staff, strong safety practices, and open communication with parents.
