I recently visited Clay With Me Pottery Studio – Richmond with a group of friends for a paint-your-own pottery session, and it was such a fun and creative experience. The workshop is designed to be relaxed and enjoyable whether you come solo or with friends, and no experience is needed — just be ready to get a little messy and have fun.

Overall, I had a good experience. The first time I visited, I booked the indoor Paint Your Own Pottery workshop. My only complaint is that online it states you can choose one small ceramic piece, but those options are items that most people wouldn’t use. I ended up upgrading, which was a bit pricey, though you do get a $10 discount on each item. In the end, a mug, cup, or bowl comes out to about $50 each. Still, I really enjoyed the experience. Fast forward to today, I booked the Paint Your Own Pottery: Graffiti Alley session. I had a good time as well, but I was a little disappointed that I wasn’t told there would be no $10 discount per item because the event was outdoors. I would’ve appreciated being informed of this beforehand. I did receive a $10 discount overall, but the lack of clarity was a letdown. For that reason, I don’t think I’d return for the Paint Your Own Pottery workshops, but I’m still considering trying out the wheel-throwing and hand-building classes. This is just feedback for the future, as I otherwise had positive experiences. Update: I came back for a wheel throwing class and i feel like we didn't get as much help because of how filled up the class was, I also agree with other reviews about not including clean up time within the service that we pay for as it did not feel like we had enough time or help, I would probably not come back here.

Joined our first class today with play with me. Had the most wonderful experience! Mia was an amazing instructor. And thank you Spicy Balkan for hosting and the delicious charcuterie and coffee!

Had an amazing session with Fern. It was our first time, and he was very kind and patient with us. He took time and explained each and every step very well! I am definitely considering coming back for more sessions. If you are considering a pottery class as a beginner, their introductory 2 hour class is a great place to start. Will definitely recommend to all my friends! 😇

What fun experience!! Came here with my work crew for international women’s day meet up, perfect activity and such awesome instructors. Leah especially was a delight and made the pottery wheel very fun for those who were unsure of what to do! Highly recommend for group putting or just some creative solo time.
