Daiso is a Japanese household goods store where parents can find convenient and cute items, with some locations offering a less crowded and well-organized shopping experience.

What to expect

This store offers a wide variety of items, with prices starting at $2.50, including popular branded merchandise like Sanrio. While some parents appreciate the organized selection and the availability of fun items, others have noted that the store can be small and experience stock issues, with one parent mentioning a rude sales assistant.

Best for

A quick trip for affordable, fun household items and gifts, especially when the store is not crowded.

Great store, clean & well stocked. I found the foam floor tiles I use for lace knitting shawls, that need to be pinned to expand pattern. Cooking utensils, Japanese green tea & spices all available here. It was a real pleasure to shop here.

Good price. Small but very helpful product. I love shopping here.

As others have said, the new store is much smaller than the old Daiso at Aberdeen. That being said, it's still got an ok selection and variety, and quality seems comparable. Unfortunately, I couldn't find most of the things I regularly bought before. I'm not sure if they're not carried or just out of stock. Prices start at $2.25, and increase according to the conversion table found posted throughout the store (most items I saw were under $4).

One of the sales assistants was very rude. I asked her where the insoles were, and she just told me behind number 19. When I asked her again and said I couldn't find them, she led me to number 20 and impatiently said they were behind number 19. When I went to pay, she was discussing the matter with her colleague.

Nice store and loved it at old location, this place is small and not happy about things out of stock! We were the first 50 customers on opening day but the goodie bag wasn't as expected and items that were there last week during soft opening is missing at opening day... Good, but disappointed. Hope things are back in stock soon!
