Got SEVERE FOOD POISONING from ordering egg salad sandwichnon Uber eats from here. It tasted disgusting and old and gave me severe illness and mind you I'm pregnant! And it made my toddler sick! We ordered on a sat evening so like even on a popular night they're obviously not making anything fresh. Don't eat here!

Today was the first time I have ever ordered food from here through Uber Eats. I got the Montreal Smoked Meat Sandwich and not only was it drool-worthy and delicious, it was visually appealing as well (which you can see from the picture). I will definitely be ordering from here again and hopefully visit the location next time and would definitely recommend trying if you haven't already!

As far as neighbourhood gems go, this is top of the list. East York Deli serves up the low-key best type of deli experience: the vibe is no-frills, the people are chatty and welcoming, the menu stretches for days, the prices are old-time reasonable, and the sandwiches are simply amazing. Stopped by a got: - Roast Beef Melt Sandwich: Wow this was amazing. From the tender beef with a salty-tangy taste, to the piping hot cheese bread, and everything in between, this was deli sandwich perfection. - Montreal Smoked Meat Sandwich: Great smoked meat, but was also vibrantly refreshing with all the veggies in it. - Fries: Crisped to perfection without being greasy or overly salty. Mainly a takeout spot but there are a couple of tables to dine-in. So many options - from deli sandwiches to burgers to pizza and pasta - that you'll never run out of things to try. I can see why this has been an enduring staple in the community as it truly is the best type of deli experience.

I am giving this score for the following reasons: (Edit watch the owners response it says alot about this place) 1) they charge 2.4% if you pay with credit card even though it wasn't disclosed. I saw it after on my receipt. 2) The server used the cashier taking money then made my sandwich with no gloves. I find it not great. 3) The crispy chicken sandwich was just ok with the tiniest piece of chicken inside. 4) The Montreal smoked meat was decent.
