Last week I was in Toronto for business and stopped here for lunch. My colleague and I were seated in the bar area in the back of the restaurant. The restaurant, overall, was very clean and tidy, including the restrooms. I ordered the Shepherd’s Pie with a side Caesar salad and a bowl of the Ale and Onion soup. The food came out hot and was very good. The bartender was busy waiting on a table of 10, but was still attentive to our table and made sure we were taken care of. I would definitely come here again the next time I am in Toronto!

For those looking for a pub with a distinctly English vibe, good beer and food options, all in Downtown, the Elephant is definitely a good choice. The pub has excellent access via the Yellow and Green Metro lines, depending on your area, and is also right across from the King Street streetcar lines. The pub is located in one of the city's historic buildings and exudes elegance. It has three areas: a patio area for spring and summer and a pet-friendly area, the main dining room, and the first-floor dining room. They have a main entrance on King Street, which features a staircase, and an entrance on Simcoe Street, which has a swinging door and ample space for disabled patrons and those using wheelchairs, walkers, or canes. And speaking of accessibility, the ground floor restrooms are adapted for disabled guests, with grab bars and spring-loaded doors. Unfortunately, they don't have a Braille menu, but they are always ready to assist. I've visited most of the time during St. Patrick's Day, and they have a great vibe and excellent customer service. Everything is decorated to introduce you to the culture. The pub's menu is excellent, with good options and well-prepared dishes. The prices are not far from other pubs in the area. The service is friendly and attentive. It's worth a visit.

Very large space, we reserved just to make sure we had a table. There is no parking at the restaurant but there are maybe paid parking lots in the area. They have some authentic English dishes and the usual pub fare. We had tried their hamburger, steak pie, Reuben sandwich. All were tasty! Service was fast considering how busy they were.

Came here for dinner before a show, made reservations in advance and thank goodness we did, because it was packed! This isn't the first time we have been here for pre/post show meals so I'll start by saying that we've had a pleasant experience each time. For our most recent visit: Service: we were running late for our 5.15 reservation, I received text notifications about our table and was able to reply we were on our way. Made it just before 5.30 and they held our table for us :) our server was attentive, no complains there. Food: usually I go for the shepherds pie, but this time I decided to try the leek and potato pie.. the side salad used to be bigger compared to what I got with my pie.. and the pie itself I thought could use a bit more seasoning. Overall just okay. My hubby ordered the slum dog which is his go-to dish here which he enjoyed. We also ordered a brownie to share and it was a pretty big portion, good thing we decided to share 😂. Atmosphere: it's loud in here but that is to be expected. Lots of tvs playing various sports.

We had a matinee show at Roy Thomson Hall and decided to try this pub since it was just seconds away within walking distance. I’ve always wanted to try this restaurant, and it did not disappoint. My eyes were hungrier than my stomach, but with the help of our lovely server (I forgot to ask her name — she had blonde hair and black-framed glasses), she recommended that I order the flight of pies. It was delicious, and for someone who loves savory pies, it was a hit. We also ordered a few apps — the sausage roll and feta dip — ending with a brownie for dessert. Overall, I would definitely come back. The customer service and vibe were on point.
