All I can say is WOW! First time here and it will now be my go-to place for a top quality fish dinner. Had the Branzino with rice and Greek salad, and it was definitely one of the best dinners I have had in a long time. To finish off the meal, I enjoyed some homemade baklava. I will definitely be back soon - if only for the baklava! Thanks Mama.

We had such a great first visit to John’s Fish and Chips! We ordered the grilled haddock with rice and coleslaw, and the breaded halibut with rice and Greek salad—both were delicious. The food was fantastic, but what really made the experience special was how warm and welcoming the owners were. Such a wonderful local spot. I’ll definitely be coming back!

High recommend this amazing restaurant!! I have tried just about every lobster roll out there and this place has the best in Toronto i am serious. A proper serving of lobster, tossed in a perfect sauce on a warm buttery toasted bun. They serve an amazing fish and chips with multiple fish options and style (can have it grilled too) and other seafood. Everything was super fresh, friendly family owned establishment will be back. Never going anywhere else for fish and chips again!

Excellent food. My husband and I shared the haddock and halibut & they were both incredible! Also, this is a family owned business & the Greek owners were beyond hospitable. They told us the branzino is flown fresh from Greece (on ice, not frozen). We will have to try it next time. Highly recommend. You won’t be disappointed.

As a long-time Google food reviewer, I only post 5-star reviews when a place is truly worth the time—and John’s Fish and Grill absolutely is. Located at the crossroads of Bloor, Dundas, and Islington, it’s not hidden, but it is a gem. I started with the octopus, which was tender and moist—no small feat. My wife had scallops flown in fresh from Greece, while I followed with calamari that was exquisite. For mains, my wife had the branzino (also flown in fresh from Greece), and another couple at our table enjoyed outstanding halibut fish and chips. Family-owned for 46 years, the warmth and care show in every detail. And don’t skip dessert—the baklava is unique to this location and unlike anything I’ve had before. A must-have. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
