Finally made a trip here after friends highly recommended this restaurant to me for years. Met every expectation and so worthwhile. Had the Egyptian Falafel, Basturma Scramble, signature creamy lentil soup, and two coffees (honey cardemom and mocha). Amazing food, hot drinks, and service. Maha came over to greet us and take our order. Restaurant had a lovely buzz but still able to talk, super homey. We got lucky on a Saturday morning with no wait and a parking spot nearby, but would definitely recommend coming early. Already planning my next visit to try other items on the menu.

The 2 things I would rate most highly is the service and the vibe of the place. The waiter who attended to our table was very nice and trained very well to answer and give menu suggestions to help in the ordering process. The owner of the place, Maha, was also extremely pleasant going around tables and chatting with the customers. The restaurant space was a little tight, but it has a lot of character. It gives a very welcoming and homey feel. One minor gripe I have is that the utensils appear to be sealed or covered the wrong way. It was the ends of the spoon and fork that was covered with napkin and not the actual surfaces that come into contact with food. The ends of utensils that actually come in contact with the food and mouth just lie there directly on top of the dining table which is not the most sanitary. As for the food, the food serving size of the meal is great and is usually more than enough for a person. Ordering appetizers on top of the brunch meals will be good for only those that are heavy eaters. For food taste, I personally would rate it as OK to good. It was not bad, but just not something I would personally consider to rank as among my favorite breakfast fare. I enjoyed it more for the novelty of trying something different which is Egyptian food. The food was also a little on the pricey side. We (group of 2) came in at 5 minutes after 10 on a Sunday morning and were lucky enough to find seating (2 tables that can seat 4). When we finished and left at 11AM, there was already a long lineup outside.

Cozy place with a great vibe. The food was really good and surprisingly affordable. The Classic Cairo was delicious. The pita that came with it is made in-house and has such a great chewy texture. And the falafel? Truly chef’s kiss. I don’t even usually like falafel, but this was probably the best I’ve ever had. It was light, cakey, and fluffy, not dense like a lot of the ones I’ve tried before. I saw a lot of reviews saying the food was overpriced, but we had two large lattes, three mains, and two espressos for $100, which I honestly can’t complain about, especially with how expensive eating out is these days. The service was lovely as well. The person serving us was clearly passionate about latte art and making drinks, and it was really nice hearing him talk about it 😊 The only downside for me is the line. It’s always long, and we waited just under an hour, which seems like that usual.

30/10. Food was delicious. Drinks were delicious. People were delicious (ok maybe not but they were super nice and attentive, even when my table was a bit tucked away). Gets busy so get there early. Tried the Cairo Classic, fresh hibiscus juice and honey cardamom latte. This spot is truly wonderful you can taste the love in the food ❤️

Maha’s brunch was truly delicious. I had the mind blowing chicken, the portion was generous, deeply flavorful and satisfying, the tehina sauce was delicious. The restaurant itself is small and charming, felt cozy and intimate, the type of atmosphere that makes it ideal for a date. The noise level was low, so we enjoyed our conversation without shouting. The service was warm and attentive. Truly great little restaurant!
