The restaurant has a beautiful decor and have amazing service. The owner was very welcoming and the food was a new yet delicious experience. My highlight was the bread that was freshly made and the sauce that came with it. My friend and i ended up buying on bread each to take home.

You gotta make a reservation in advance, otherwise you won't get a table unless it's not peak hours. The restaurant's kinda small, but the staff—Vlad is super friendly. The other customers in the place are also really nice. They even recommended some good dishes to us. The Meat Platter for 2 comes with two lamb racks, a few chunks of beef and chicken breast, two or three chicken drumsticks, cabbage salad, some eggplant and zucchini slices and a plate of bread. I don't really recommend it. The lamb racks are okay, but the other meats are a bit dry and lack flavor. The salad is a bit too plain. The roasted eggplant has a bitter flavoured, but the roasted zucchini is good, it's tender and juicy. The bread aren't as chewy as I thought. They come with egg sauce (not my type), eggplant sauce (it's okay), and hummus (good). The Beef Stew in Clay Pot has the best flavor for me. It's sweet braised beef without any tendons. There are onions, chickpeas, chestnuts, bell peppers, and cherry tomatoes in it. It's a thumbs up! The Shah Plov is a beef/lamb rice dish. It has a special crispy outer layer. There are chestnuts and dried fruits inside, but overall the rice doesn't have much flavor. It has a good meaning, and the waiter will explain the dish to you. The Georgian Khinkal looks great. It's hot, tender, and juicy, filled with beef/lamb. My buddy said it was good. Everything here is like a staple food, so you'll get full easily. I've always heard this place is really famous, but the food isn't really my cup of tea. The rice always has a strange smell, and I can't get used to it. The grilled meats are all dry and lack seasoning.

Fantastic spot. First time trying food from Azerbaijan. Loved the food the vibe and the service. We had the meat platter for two and the Shah Plov. Easily enough food for 4 people. Special shout out to Vlady for amazing service. Super friendly and very attentive. Highly recommend if you are hungry and in the mood for good food at a cozy place.

We and our friends had the wonderful pleasure of dining at Old Avenue Restaurant on Avenue Rd. recently and we couldn't rave about it enough! We had never experienced a blend of South Caucasus/Azerbaijani & Middle Eastern cuisine & we absolutely LOVED it!!! The atmosphere was so vibrant & fun, & beautifully decorated with lovely antiques & other treasures. The wine was perfect & the food was incredibly delicious and so elegantly served. We thoroughly enjoyed the Avocado Salad, fresh & delicately seasoned bread with Humus, Babaganoush, and the mouth-watering Old Avenue Spread. For our mains, the guys shared the Meat Platter for 2 which included lamb, beef, chicken breast & wings with appetizers & sides and my friend & I each had the chicken wings & fries as well as the Drunky Chicken - every bite of everything: just superb! The service was impeccable - special thanks to Artem & Ofelia for going above & beyond and a ton of thanks to co-owners Esther & Mahmud for creating this beautiful oasis! This space is great for meals with family & friends & also for bar mitzvahs, weddings, corporate & all kinds of parties & more!! Looking ever so forward to returning to this treasure of a place in Toronto!!! xoxoxo

Old Avenue Restaurant is a cozy, one-of-a-kind restaurant!! We received timely and friendly service throughout our visit. A shout out to Vlady and our first server, who were both very patient and helped us with the menu, providing great recommendations and an extra top-up of bread and dip! Everything was absolutely delicious, hearty, and fresh! The Shah Plov and Mix Appetizers dishes were our favourites! We went home satiated and happy, with lots leftover to eat for our next couple of meals. Thank you for a great night, Old Avenue Restaurant. I cannot recommend this place enough!! So happy to have found it!
