We came last minute for the Super Bowl and sat at the bar. There’s a big TV display and they actually had the sound on, as opposed to the other restaurants we checked out prior to choosing Pickle Barrel. Earls, Joeys and Cheesecake Factory had small screens and little to no sound. We had zero expectations outside of wanting to watch the Super Bowl but Javier was such a great host. There were raffles and the overall vibe was great. Felt wholesome and inviting. If you’re looking for somewhere to watch a big sporting event in the mall, I’d recommend coming here.

Unfortunately, our visit to Pickle Barrel at Yorkdale was a bit disappointing. The only saving grace was our server, who was clearly overloaded handling four group tables on their own. Despite that, they were apologetic, kind, and doing their absolute best. Several items from our order were missed, and we waited quite a while for drinks, which ended up being watered down. Our steaks came out rare instead of medium rare, and the deep-fried pickles were sliced so thin that there were barely any pickles inside. We were on a time crunch and decided not to order dessert. Although we had a large group, management should have stepped in to support their staff. The server did everything they could, but the experience overall left a lot to be desired.

The peach Bellini rocked my world, and the chicken sandwich literally melted in my mouth — everything was so fresh and delicious. But what truly elevated the experience was our server, Abba. Blessings to such a noble, kind, and attentive man. Service like his makes you want to come back again and again!

This is my second time at Pickle Barrel. Their dishes are so delicious, and the waitress recommended this gluten-free dessert—I'm so glad I listened to her! It was spectacular, just like the food. The only thing I have to say is that when we arrived, some people who had been waiting to be served left because they had been waiting so long. Well, I didn't wait; I went inside and asked a waitress for a table. I'm so glad I did. I loved the place and I'll be back for more.

We had a brunch meeting here this morning. The Pickle Barrel first opened at a downtown location in 1971. It was popular especially among the high school crowd in the 70s. It had been years since I had eaten at one. Once you get over the long escalated ride into the abyss , you are welcomed by the hostess. The transition is well done and necessary to put the escalator experience behind you. We arrived early and secured a booth. Surprisingly, it wasn't busy at all, possible due to the overnight snow fall. Service was friendly and professional. The coffee was too weak for my taste and I was disappointed. It wasn't until later that I found out they have espresso. Also, I ordered my eggs over easy and they arrived over well. Thats something that makes a difference for me. The venue, though in the basement of Yorkdake mall, is impressive as you will see in my video. It is designed to accommodate dates, families, parties and even celebrations or company events. There is a lounge area with fully stocked bar with several screens. It has a dining room section that looks like it can seat 50 or more, there are plenty of booths and also tables thst can accommodate 10 or more. I also like that there are plenty of counters. The washrooms are clean and updated. The bench seating in our booth was showing some where with a rip in the centee. As for it being in the basement, you don't even notice there aren't any windows or natural light. It must take its toll on the staff. Overall, I was pleasantly surprised and I'd go back.
