Great place to study with many options for any type of study session! Quiet zones and conversation friendly zones are present all over the library, aswell as ample seating with the option to book group study rooms for planned study sessions. You can rent out whiteboard markers with your YU card aswell to study on the whiteboards aswell!

I only go here to study and the excessive beige quite boring but the second floor isn’t so bad, lots of different areas with different volume levels and you can book private rooms too. This is also where the adaptive lab is for people with disabilities(like me), I like that it has a silent room where even whispering isn’t permitted, it helps me focus. There’s also bigger computer screens which I love for better organizing and plenty of different assistive technologies that I don’t use but I’m sure others might find helpful. You can also book a private room within the adaptive lab but I haven’t yet used one.

Very spacious and very quiet throughout. Lots of natural light, but not a terribly great view on the bottom floor; the area with the little pool and art display seems rather dull. The staff are quite helpful and friendly. Very clean the times I've been here. Very easy going up and down the floors. The middle area looks nicer the higher you go. I really wish there were more power outlets by the seating areas on the side, where I can study in a separated booth. These seats are very isolating and calming, however I cannot spend much time there because I cannot access power outlets there. On the ground floor, I have tried several times to access the small isolated rooms for study groups, which requires booking, and they are almost always all filled, whether or not they are booked by the people in them.

Could not find an elevator within the library to the upper floors - wondering if you have to make a special request to get an elevator key or something if it is just not clear on the signage where to find it. It was surprising. The layout is pretty confusing in general and there is no signage to indicate where hold pickups happen. Otherwise there is lots of quiet study space.

Does a decent job in adjusting a big population of York. Obviously it can’t take more students in. You can always find a spot for one to two persons, but for group study good luck finding one.
