I took the one-on-one wheel classes in Julie’s studio and loved the whole experience. Julie is a great teacher who makes you feel comfortable right away. It feels like learning from a friend you’ve known for a while. I learned a lot, had fun, and would absolutely recommend Shaw Street Pottery.

Shaw Street Pottery is one of Toronto's little gems. Lessons with Julie are fun and fulfilling, with a wonderful balance of hands-on help and freedom to learn. I was thrilled with what I learned and what I made. I highly recommend her classes - and make sure you check out her own pottery as well. It's beautiful!

Julie has a cozy and pleasant studio, and opens it to anyone that wants to learn and play with ceramics. I enjoyed her courses. The first was one on one and she taught me while letting me feel creative and work at my own pace; listened to music and had some laughs too while making waves for a wall piece. In the second course, it was fun making plates, cups and candle holders, and taking inspiration from the other students. Ceramic enthusiasts at any level can find something interesting to do there, go for it!

I had an amazing time learning pottery from Julie! I learned a variety of techniques that really helped improve my skills, and she was incredibly supportive of my goals for the class. I was so happy with my finished pieces, which she had ready very quickly. I definitely recommend this studio for anyone looking for a welcoming and inspiring learning environment.

I've taken three courses with Julie, and truly enjoyed myself. She has a knack for making everyone feel comfortable and welcome, and the classes are small enough that every participant gets a lot of individualized attention. Even as a beginner, you can follow your creativity and she she will help make what you want happen. Her classes are a really lovely and restorative time, I can't recommend them enough!
