The Thomas Fisher Rare Book Library was such a cool experience while visiting Toronto. I was actually shocked it didn’t require a reservation or fee to enter. While you can’t go to the various floors and see the majority of the books up close, it was still a great experience. I was blown away that they had Immanuel Kant’s original books on display from the 1700’s. Whether you’re a book fanatic or just want to see a cool looking library, I’d suggest popping in!

Smashing IT! 📚 What a spectacular gem in the heart of the City. Nestled at the University of Toronto Campus. The Thomas Fisher Rare Book Collection is definitely a feast for the eyes. The design and display will take your breath away. If you're lucky enough to call yourself a researcher your research will definitely be elevated if you find a book or books to accompany your studies. Excellent and friendly staff as well. Highly knowledgeable and a pleasure interact with. It's where literature souls go to mingle with one another in silence. 🙌

The library is open throughout May, offering visitors a wonderful opportunity to see its vast collection of organized and cataloged books. The building's renovations have made it accessible to visitors with disabilities, offering improved accessibility: automatic doors, ramps, modern elevators, and accessible bathrooms with grab bars. It's worth exploring the space and learning more about the building's history.

Although I graduated from the UofT, I had never taken the time to properly visit this library until now. The building is absolutely stunning, with remarkable architecture and a sense of history that is felt throughout the space. It is beautifully preserved and thoughtfully maintained. The staff member at the front desk was exceptionally courteous and took the time to explain how the library operates. I appreciated learning about the displays and was informed that materials can be requested for viewing downstairs. Overall, it was a memorable and enriching visit to a truly distinguished academic space.
