The food was delicious. The portions are quite large, so you’ll definitely feel full. The miso soup doesn’t have any ingredients, but the flavor is good. It would be nice if they provided some sesame seeds on the side. The pickles were tasty as well.

The mushroom cream sauce tasted like fresh opened can cream of mushroom. The brick cheese katsu was great with fresh cheese but had that “meat smell”. The Japanese Mala sauce also just tasted like fresh out of packet mala mixed in with water. The cheeseballs tasted like 85% dough & 15% cheese. The Karaage though, was very good!! The service, decor and sitting space was great ! :)

We had a great dinner at Cotolet. I ordered the Brown Sauce Pork Loin, and my wife had the yuzu fish—both were delicious and very generously portioned. The pork loin was perfectly breaded and juicy, and the brown sauce paired really well without being too heavy. The yuzu fish was refreshing and flavorful, a nice balance of crispy texture and citrusy brightness. Portions were huge—we couldn’t finish everything and happily took the leftovers home. Definitely great value for the quality and portion size. Would absolutely come back again and recommend it if you’re craving a satisfying katsu-style meal.

So happy to finally try this place and it didn’t disappoint. It’s now one of my favourite restaurants and will definitely be our go-to date night place. The food is amazing and the portions are generous. Ordered the chicken cutlet with brown Demi-glacé sauce, fish fillet with red Demi-glacé sauce and the Bulgogi cream pasta. All were served with miso soup to start. Good service and nice, friendly atmosphere with a mix of families, young and older adults. Highly recommend and will be back.

I had such a great experience at Cotolet in Richmond Hill! The food was absolutely delicious!! perfectly crispy on the outside, tender and juicy on the inside. You can really taste the quality and care that goes into every dish. The portions were generous, everything was fresh, and the flavors were spot on. The staff was friendly, welcoming, and made the whole experience even better. The atmosphere was clean and comfortable, making it a great spot for a casual meal. I’ll definitely be coming back and recommending Cotolet to friends and family!
