  My almost three-year-old daughter has been attending Western Heights Montessori for the past year now, and it has been an incredibly enriching and satisfying experience for our entire family. From the moment we first stepped into the school, we were struck by the calm, purposeful atmosphere. The classrooms are beautifully prepared environments, filled with inviting materials that encourage exploration and discovery. The integration of yoga, French, and Mandarin has further enriched this experience, making it a truly holistic and exceptional program.What truly sets Western Heights apart, however, is their dedicated and nurturing staff. The teachers (Ms Sanaya, Ms Lisa and Ms Monica) are not just educators; they are guides who foster a deep sense of independence and curiosity in each child. We've been consistently impressed by their ability to observe and understand our daughter's individual needs and interests, tailoring their guidance to help her thrive. We've seen remarkable growth in our daughter since she started at the school. She has developed a wonderful sense of self-reliance, confidently engaging in practical life activities like pouring water, preparing snacks, and dressing herself. Her fine motor skills have blossomed through her work with the Montessori materials, and we've been amazed by her growing concentration and problem-solving abilities. Beyond academics, the school places a strong emphasis on grace and courtesy, and we've noticed her becoming more empathetic and respectful in her interactions with others. Beyond the traditional Montessori curriculum, the inclusion of yoga, French, and Mandarin has been an exceptional bonus. The yoga sessions have been fantastic for her developing motor skills, balance, and body awareness, all while introducing a sense of calm and mindfulness. She often comes home demonstrating new poses, giggling as she explains them. The exposure to French and Mandarin at such a young age has also been invaluable. While we don't expect fluency, the early introduction to different phonetics and cultures has broadened her horizons and ignited a curiosity about the world around her. She occasionally surprises us with a French or Mandarin word she's learned, showcasing how naturally these languages are being absorbed. As a family, we've found immense satisfaction in this Montessori journey. The school provides excellent communication, keeping us informed about our daughter's progress and offering insights into the Montessori philosophy. They foster a strong sense of community, and we've enjoyed connecting with other families who share our values. Witnessing our daughter's joy and eagerness to go to school each day is truly heartwarming. She comes home excited to share what she's learned and demonstrate new skills, which speaks volumes about the positive and engaging environment she's a part of. Western Heights Montessori has truly exceeded our expectations. It's more than just a school; it's a place where our daughter is not only learning but also developing into a confident, capable, and compassionate individual.   We were at a different daycare briefly before taking our child out. We were on the waitlist for Western Heights Maple Grove Campus at the time and had a sudden change in our work schedule requiring us to find something quick for our child. We eventually took our child out of the other daycare because we noticed a high staff turnover rate and their staff were not always friendly or quick to respond to our concerns. It became clear that our values did not align. When a spot opened up for our child at Western Heights, we noticed the difference from the previous daycare compared to them immediately. It was day and night! The staff have been at the school for years and that was a good indicator for us compared to the previous daycare. Everyone was happy and friendly! We highly recommend Western Heights Montessori Academy to anyone considering a home away from home for their child. Western Heights is absolutely amazing! They are a part of the CCMA (beware of some “montessori” schools who are not really teaching the montessori philosophies but are using the montessori name) and give you the big school feeling in a small school! It’s a great introduction and transition for your child from a small school to the eventual big school they will be attending. The staff at Maple Grove Campus are absolutely amazing! Everyone is so friendly, caring and are genuinely invested in your child’s educational journey. Our 4 year old has been there for 2 years, including summer camps, and has learned so much from the school. She can read, add, subtract, write, and was even introduced to multiplication and division recently. She has also developed practical life skills and loves helping in the kitchen and around the house. It has all been at her own pace and while she has been encouraged to try new things, she has never been forced or pressured so it made learning fun for her! They have a great curriculum that includes French, Mandarin, music, and yoga classes. Our 4 year old loved doing the show and tells and library book exchanges. At the Maple Grove location, the gym is an asset especially during the extreme weather days! Daily updates and pictures were sent via an app which was so nice! We loved receiving updates to see what our child was up to during the day and if she ate her meals. The staff was quick to respond to any questions or concerns we had. They were considerate and put a lot of little extra touches to special events that made everything even more special. Lots of attention and effort were put into events such as the Terry Fox walk, Holiday concert, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Graduation, Multicultural Day, Pride Month etc. The families that attend the school also volunteer to help celebrate and share various holidays and cultures such as Chinese New Year, Diwali, Eid, etc. We will truly miss the school as our child starts JK in the fall at her big school and will cherish all the memories we’ve made at this amazing school! Thank you Ms. Lisa, Ms. Amina, Ms. Monica, Ms. Nahed, and Ms. Sobia! You have made such a huge positive impact in our lives and we wish you all the best in the future!

  I have a 4 year old daughter who has attended this Montessori for 2 years. Great staff, great teachers, and very accommodating as well. The classrooms are very nice and well maintained and the curriculum is very well designed. Highly recommended

  My daughter has been attending WH Maple Grove Daycare for the past 7 months, and we couldn’t be happier with the experience. The staff is incredibly caring and attentive. I love how the teachers ( Ms. Lisa/ Monica/ Sanaya) provide daily updates and photos, so I can see what she’s learning and doing throughout the day. It makes me feel involved in her day-to-day activities. The daycare also offers flexible hours that work perfectly with our family’s schedule. I highly recommend WH Daycare to any parent looking for a wonderful, nurturing environment for their child.
